DAJH Architects Visits GRC Factory for Riyadh Project Material Selection
The team from DAJH Architects recently conducted a site visit to a Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) factory as part of their ongoing project in Huttin, Riyadh. The visit aimed to assess material quality, explore fabrication techniques, and finalize selections for architectural elements that will feature prominently in the design.
GRC, known for its durability, lightweight properties, and design flexibility, plays a critical role in contemporary architecture, especially in large-scale projects in the Middle East. The DAJH team engaged with factory engineers to understand the production process, from mold creation to curing and finishing. Their focus was on ensuring that the selected materials met both the aesthetic and structural requirements of the project.
The Huttin 1153 project, for which these GRC elements are being considered, is set to feature intricate façade details, inspired by the region’s architectural heritage while incorporating modern construction techniques. By visiting the factory, the architects gained crucial insights into customization possibilities, installation methods, and long-term performance expectations.
