The project centers around an internal 8x8m courtyard, which serves as a vertical void extending through the entire building. This courtyard is the core around which the layout is organized, providing all functions with direct physical and visual access to this central space. The ground floor opens up to a green area that doubles as a football field and playground, seamlessly extending to the basement to create a connection between the two levels. The building’s envelope acts as a protective shell, featuring small perforations along the main arteries and larger openings overlooking the green spaces. The main circulation of the building is positioned within a recessed concrete rectangular block at the back of the structure. This block houses two different staircases, facilitating access to various levels. The project comprises several key components. The basement level includes a swimming pool, playground, showers, technical areas, and various facilities. The ground floor accommodates the primary living and dining spaces, a kitchen, guest rooms, and a lobby. The upper two levels are designated for bedrooms and additional living rooms.
The main functional areas within the building are as follows: the basement features a pool, sauna, jacuzzi, movie room, showers, and laundry facilities. It also houses three types of Majlis (a traditional Arab meeting space), dining areas, a kitchen, service zones, and various amenities. The upper floors include six bedrooms, a library or office space, guest bedrooms, and additional play areas for children. This architectural design harmoniously blends living spaces with recreational areas, ensuring that each function is closely linked to the central courtyard. The use of vertical circulation through the staircases in the recessed concrete block enables smooth transitions between the different levels, making the building's flow efficient and cohesive. The perforated envelope not only offers protection but also enhances natural light and ventilation, contributing to a comfortable and inviting internal environment.
