Armed Forces Housing
Northern Frontier, KSA 2020
This project is about the design of armed forces housing at Northern frontier, Shoubt Nisab and Jazan in KSA. The ministry of defense (MOD) represented through the general directorate of military works (GDMW) intends to develop 6 sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the housing of its military staff and provide a modern living environment for the mod’s employees and their families to improve on the mod’s current style as it will house both its military and civilian staff.
The 6 sites are located as follows:
Site 1, “Arar” 1.5 Km2
Site 2, “Turaif” 2 Km2
Site 3, “Rafha” 1.5 Km2
Site 4, “AlJouf” 1 Km2
Site 5, “Shoubt Nisab” 1.2 Km2
Site 6, “Jazan” 1.2 Km2
The MOD proposes to construct 5477 units in the first phase across the 6 sites. This shall be made up with multiple residential types including villa and housing unit accommodations. The total number of residential units and supporting facilities to be provided at each of the 6 sites is further detailed in the contract documents. Each residential complex includes all required facilities to ensure a self-sufficient community. To support the residential this includes commercial, operational and recreational facilities and amenities along with the required schools, mosques and supporting services and utilities.
